I'm very excited about my new design, the Daniella Gypsy Vest!

The pointed front and high back really accentuate the waist, making me feel like a bellydancer. It looks great with a stripey outfit, but can also be worn without a shirt for some sexy festival fun, and maybe the occasional peek of underboob.

Since I was planning on lining the vest I went ahead and made it reversible, because that's awesome and so am I. The shell is made out of this amazing embroidered upholstery fabric (which some may recognize from  my tribal coat), and it's no longer available so this is very one-of-a-kind. In fact I had to very carefully cut these pieces from scrap fabric left over from the coat. The front panels of the lining are a quilting cotton that has a bandana-esque print, which allowed me to hide a pocket, the perfect size for a cell phone, cash money, and a couple business cards. The back lining is a pink and red striped jersey that will be very comfortable to wear, and is also a recycled fabric.

There are lots more photos on my blog!

What a splendid waistcoat, I love the 2 different heights.

Look twice, buy once. Nooooo
Look twice, decide I can make one instead.

This pretty much sums up everything you make as far as I'm concerned. I wish I had a more colour-friendly job (I have to wear black and white, booo!) so I can steal more of your ideas. Although to do so would require considerably more talent than I can muster...

Thanks y'all! It's always fun to develop and new pattern. Lately I've been trying to "turn up the volume" on everything I make, and it seems to be getting better response than when I steer towards mainstream.

There's a Burning Man philosopher named Halcyon and while he doesn't say anything I don't already know, his videos have been helping me adjust my mind. His motto is "You only live once. Do it in color!" which I've been taking quite literally. He is at: http://lustmonkey.com/.

Love that and couldn't agree more! Be bright and loud Smiley.

This vest is really great. The color and shape are fun but still very flattering. I like the look of it with stripes too! Oh and the black and white piping detail is perfect!
