I've been working on these over the past few weekends and they're finally in the mail.

I started by printing the text to the invitations on my laser printer. I then attached the cream cardstock to yellow cardstock with 2 glue dots, as well as attaching a piece of pink fabric that was interfaced to the back the same way. Next, I stitched the three layers together with fuschia thread.

After trimming the thread, I attached the flowers. They were interfaced before being cut out so as not to fray too much. I stitched a small circle around the center of each flower. The invites with orange text got pink flowers and vice versa (yellow, pink, and orange are my colors).

The RSVP cards were made similarly, though no flowers or fabric backing. Rather than inserting a map to the location I made little card inserts with our website on them. Additionally, we're doing a DIY registry for our honeymoon so that info is available on the site. (We're going on a baseball roadtrip and asking for tickets to games).

I lined my own envelopes by creating a template and recycling old scrapbook paper. I inserted the pieces I cut out into the envelopes and used a glue stick to attach just the triangle on the flap. I also bought a jumble of vintage stamps from a local stamp dealer to mail them with.

And a final shot of the whole package. whew!

For a full tutorial, I was inspired by this blog: http://www.merrimentdesign.com/sewn-half-flower-loose-leaf-fabric-wedding-invitations-with-fabric-backs.php

Those are phenomenal! Really, I'm jealous. My wedding invites were just printed on the computer from a kit. Yours are soooooo original and cool.
