I have this crappy 1st generation iPod Shuffle that pretty much broke down within a week of buying it a few years ago and it has been sitting in a drawer ever since. Now, I want to do something with it!

Does anyone have any ideas what I could make? I was thinking of cracking it open to make a sort of case or something, but don't know what. Thanks!

my brother's shuffle had the same thing happen, but it could still be used as a usb drive but it never played music again. You should try it out and see if that would still work and you could decorate it some how.

I second the idea to use it as a USB. If it no longer can function as a USB, It might make a really nice pendant for a necklace when decorated. You could also make it into a brooch or belt buckle.

OR! you could make it into the most expensive mint container ever.
found this a while back on instructables.com, and its basically someone hollowed out all the electronic parts, and turned it into a mint container.
or you could make it a pill case i suppose...

anyways, heres the link

I Second That - I'd Hollow It Out & Make A PEZ Dispenser!...Or Put My Juicy Fruit Gum In It.

Put Rice/Popping Corn In It And Have A Percussion Shaker.

Hot Glue Magnet(s) To The Back & Have A Fridge Memo Holder

Hot Glue Thumb Tacks To The Back And Have A Bulletin Board Memo Holder

Bejewel It And Use It To Keep Jewellry In When Travelling

Spray Paint It A Fluorescent Orange, Drill A Hole In The End And Slide It Onto Your Car Antenna - You'll Always Find Your Car At The Mall

Use It In Your Car To Put Parking/Toll Booth Change In

Speaking Of Jewellry, Drill A Hole On Each Side And Thread Some Plumbing Chain (you know the stuff that your sink plug is tied to, or army guys use with their dog tags)  Thru It And Use It As A Pendant Necklace With Stylin' Bling!...Oh Yeah, And Bejewel It Too  Grin
