A young father had me paint this for his daughter on her 5th birthday. Due to circumstances beyond his control, he is unable to see his daughter as much as he would wish. He wants her to know how much he loves her, even though he's not around, so he had me paint this as a token of his love to her. I am honoured that he would have me paint something so dear to his heart. Such a lovely man.

I was filled with emotion while painting this. I wanted it to be perfect. I made his hands slightly bigger than I normally would because I wanted her to know that her dad's love is strong and will always take care of her. I made the sky brighter around her head, and it has a pearlized sheen to symbolize that she is the light in his life, his angel. The accessory in her hair is symbolic of a halo.

I hope you all enjoy looking at it as much as I enjoyed painting it!

That is so beautiful! You did an amazing job, it definitely embodies the love a father has for his daughter.

I always think your work is absolutely amazing, this is no exception.  You are truly talented.  I think you can really feel the emotion in this.  I hope his daughter will cherish it.

I love that everything you do is instantly recognizable as your work, but they're all so different too! Lovely as always Smiley and I'm sure that little girl will cherish this for the rest of her life.

Thank you so much, everyone! As I mentioned, I was filled with emotion while painting this, and it makes me happy to hear that it poured into the work.

Thanks so much for the lovely comments! I'm still awaiting his reply. I'm nervous/excited to see what he has to say!

I am absolutely in love with this! It reminds me so much of my boyfriend and his daughter. He also doesn't get to see her much due to the fact that he's in the military.
I always love your paintings Smiley And this one is probably one of my favorites. I'm sure she will cherish it forever. Thank you for sharing!

I post things like this in my blog too!
