This was originally intended to be a skirt for myself.  However, after trying it on, I realized that I am a little too old...and self-conscious...to wear anything quite this bright.  The kiddo instantly claimed it, she fell in love with it, so I cut it down and fit it for her!  In the end it's way better this way, as she needed skirts and has lots of tops that go with it, so I am happy my hours of cutting and piecing did not go to waste.

There are no action shots because she will not hold still long enough for me to get some at a time when I actually know where my camera is.  I will try to nail her down and get some this week though, as you can't really see the wild array of colors without a bit of twirly action, and that's hard to do on the front porch with a coat hanger for an assistant!

I'd probably wear something like that, and I'm in my forties.  Wink

Truly, though, I do have a bunch of wild tie-dyed tiered skirts and suchlike, but most of the colors are more subtle than those glorious brights you used. I also am making a lot of skirts with large-scale prints, but again, the colors are a bit more chilled out.

That said, my three year old and twenty year old girls would be all up in that!

Great job!

Very nice! I think I might wear it if I felt brave enough. Hm... but at least it's good for her!

Thanks for the nice comments guys!!  I think I would have liked it more, for me, if I had stayed with one color for each of the tiers.  It didn't match the picture I had in my head, and I ran out of fabrics to do it the way I'd planned, so I think that's part of the reason why I didn't like it so much for myself.  However, I am almost morehappy that it worked out for her - she is so happy in it!!  Made it all worth while  Cheesy
