I got round to sewing it all together this morning, didn't take me as long as I thought which was obviously nice.

Ginger squid kitten hybrid, or squitten if you prefer. GM gone crazy? Sewer mutant? A result of an... interesting encounter? You decide.

Just over 1ft long, hand sewn. He has fur, tentacles, cat ears, cat-ish eyes and paws.

Sidey-widey-

Cute, but it looks like a squid-wookie.
They should've had those in Star Wars!!

I love it!

Squid-wookie was my first thought, too. That and adorable! I want one!

Hehe, i love it! I was wondering-and I'm not sure how this works because I just joined, mostly for the squitten- If you would consider sharing this pattern, my friend loves it and I've been promising to make her a squid.

Thanks so much~Bella

Thanks Smiley I'm not sure if I've still got the pattern- it's just based off a basic squid pattern, with slightly shorter tentacles and some extra pink felt. I cut each tentacle as one strip then sewed into a tube, because I couldn't be bothered to hand stitch two sides. Well, apart from the two long ones, which would be difficult to cut as one piece. I sewed the ears on after doing the body, took a bit of effort and I don't think you'd be able to machine it, there's probably an easier way (I forgot to sew them into the body, but it would probably have been wonky anyway). When it came to sewing everything together, I initially made a tentacle 'block'- two sets of three, and two sets of one long + one short. Then sewed the blocks together, stuffed the body, inserted tentacles and sewed straight through the tentacle block to attatch them.

Hilarious! Very cute, in a mutant kind of way. What inspired you to make it?

It is better to have crafted and failed then never to have crafted at all.
Yes, I am stalking the Toys and Playthings board. Thanks for noticing!
I'm cheating on Craftster with Pinterest. It's ok though. There's overlap.
