Made this quilt from here because the hubby and I needed a new lighter summer quilt for our bed so we dont' have to turn down the AC so much at night. I picked the colors because I was inspired by a set of fabric that Elizabeth had put on her blog. Beautiful citrus and lime summer colors. She ended up using them for another quilt, but I took the idea and made a quilt based around one of my favorite Alexander Henry prints. You know, the one with lemons on it. I don't actually know the name of it, now that I think about it.

The quilt front:

The quilt back, designed by my husband!

Another shot of the back. My hubby is a great photographer.

I stipled the quilt, which was the first time I had done this on a quilt of this size. The quilt is just under king sized.

And a shot of the pillow cases I made for our throw pillows to match the new quilt. I made them off of this tutorial. I loved making them just as pillow cases because you can't tell from the front, but I didn't have to buy new pillow forms since I just slipped them over the pillows and left the old case on. And when I change out the quilts when winter comes, I can just slip them off and have the "old" pillows back! Score!

Comments and criticism much appreciated!

Really lovely! The colors are great!

It is better to have crafted and failed then never to have crafted at all.
Yes, I am stalking the Toys and Playthings board. Thanks for noticing!
I'm cheating on Craftster with Pinterest. It's ok though. There's overlap.

Awesome!!  I am so excited to be able to get back to quilting soon!
I really wanted to make something for my room this year - you are a great inspiration - your set is just fantastic - and extra bonus on husbandly imput.  Mine would just say "no pink"

I am collecting quilts, afghans & blankets for those that lost their homes.  Pm me!

I really love the colours you chose, and the way you decided to photograph it.
