About three years ago, close friends of ours lost a baby very late in the pregnancy. They named him Ryan and I made them a quilt to commemorate him. (I did post it here but can't find it.)

I was absolutely thrilled to hear that last month they delivered a healthy baby boy, so I was delighted to be able to make this quilt for him!

Another quilt made entirely from scraps, the border is from an old doona cover and the backing is a lovely deep purple fitted sheet from Vinnie's. I had a lot of fun experimenting with different stitches while I was doing the quilting - how good does the zig zag look??!

Haven't given it to them yet because their little man has only just come home from hospital (he was a few weeks prem). Looking forward to delivering it in person!

Wow, what good news! Your quilt is wonderful, excellent for a bouncing baby boy to play on. I like the zigzag stitch, it looks neat Smiley

What a fun quilt, I love the wavy lines you quilted. I also really like Ryan's quilt, thanks pjherbert for finding it.

This is such a happy story and a happy quilt. I absolutely love the wavy lines and zig zag - I think it's neat to have the square blocks with the rounded lines.

I'm sure they will love it!! Great job Smiley.

What a fun quilt!  I am sure that it is going to be very welcomed!  I'm so happy to hear they brought home a healthy boy!  I can't imagine going through what they did  Cry but it all works out for whatever reason.  Beautiful quilt!
