My friend and her fiance just moved into a rental house and had a party last night to celebrate.  I wanted to give them something in honor of their move from an apartment to a house but am pretty much broke.  I remembered that they use fabric napkins, so I decided to make them a spiffy set.

Most everything they own is black and white, so I used a fabulous black, white and grey IKEA fabric that I've been hoarding for a while.

 Materials:
4  14 inch square pattern fabric
4  16 inch square pattern fabric
pins
iron

1. Iron 8 squares of fabric and arrange so the patterned fabric is centered on top of he solid fabric. Wrong side to wrong side

2. Fold the outer edges of the solid fabric so it meets the other edge of the patterned fabric. Press.

3. Fold the outer edges of the solid fabric over the edge of the patterned fabric. Press and pin.

4. Repeat on the other edges

5. Repeat on the other napkins

6. Sew a zig zag or stitch of your choice.

What a wonderful idea! We've discussed going to all cloth napkins recently and this is just the inspiration I needed!

Thanks so much for posting this. :-)

Money may not buy happiness, but it does buy craft supplies, that's pretty stinkin' close.
