I made a strapless bra for my sister.
I drafted the pattern myself and lined the cups with padding. Padding is foam between two layers of fabric, this creates a cup similar to a moulded cup.
The bra is made from black spandex (I know it looks dark blue in the pictures, but it really is black). The edges are done with lingerie/picot elastic.

Modeled by the table, because my sister lives on the other side of the country.

Thanks for looking Smiley

You made that!?  Shocked Everyday I have a freak out over the talented Craftsters!
Years ago my mom made some lingerie but I can guarantee no bras were constructed. This is fantastic! I will continue to be shocked the rest of the day!

Wow, that looks so professional. Did you use an old bra to help you draft the pattern? I'm sure your sister will love it!

I wish I knew how to make one! They don't make strapless bras in my size and its a real hassle.

I second (third....fourth...whatever) the sentiment that I need to learn to make this and that they don't make strapless bras in my size.  Maybe please a tutorial?

Thanks, making bras is fortunately not as difficult as it seems.

I have a book about drafting patterns for lingerie. I didn't use an old bra, but I did make two mock ups first (because my sister first told me to make the wrong size).
I have the pattern in 2 sizes and instructions on BurdaStyle.
I'll try to draw the pattern in other sizes too, but I should first finish the jeans I started working on.

Awesome! I was just thinking yesterday that i need to start making my own bras. The only ones that fit me are from VS and they are quite pricey. Thanks soooo much!!!
