Have you seen the Kariza dress...

It's those cute wrap dress sold at kiosks at the mall?
I bought one when I was in Maui, because I was on vacation and thought that dress was so perfect...
Only to find out that I just cannot work it!!
No matter how I wrap, it just looks so bulky and not right.
It maybe because I'm petite (4'11''), and there's just too much fabric...
I kept it for almost 5 years because I thought one day I'll figure it out...
Finally I took it apart and made some tops!
It's such a nice fabric, I didn't want it to go to waste.

First out of Simplicity pattern (I forgot the #)

Another one using Butterick 5319, only it's a top instead of a dress.

I'm so glad I learned how to sew!  Smiley

Both are really cute tops.

It is better to have crafted and failed then never to have crafted at all.
Yes, I am stalking the Toys and Playthings board. Thanks for noticing!
I'm cheating on Craftster with Pinterest. It's ok though. There's overlap.

Thank you everybody for nice comments!  Smiley
Seesaey, if you're not wearing it you should recon!  I actually cut some fabric off few years ago, thinking it would reduce the bulk (which it didn't).
So if it's untouched, it's actually alot of fabric you can work with!
