In our kindergarden teachers asked us (parents) to bring a photo of the whole family to be displayed so the kids can go and look at it when they feel homesick. They say it works really nice and that kids like it (they are sad at first because they remember mom and dad are not there but later it's very helpful to them).

The first problem was we had no photo with all 4 members on it! So we had to go and take one first - we asked the dog walker that came by Grin. And of course I wouldn't be a crafty mommy if I didn't put something to the photo. I wanted it to stand out a little bit so my dd would find it easily. It shouldn't stand out too much because I don't want to get in the way of teachers and other parents.

This photo was made when we went to make our first snowman so I made a cardbord snowman and because my first dd's favourite toy is a polar bear and my second dd's fabourite toy is penguin I added those. I also made a snowman pin from polymer clay - you can see a better pic of it here:

Hopefully the other moms will get inspired! I bet the stickers and the snowman pin (which is a brilliant thing, by the way) will result in lots of people hearing the stories of the snowman building and her favourite toys. I like the whole kindergarten photo board idea, too. I wonder if it's commonly done.

I second that. Smiley In our kindergarten the photo boards are common practice - every group has one.

muria, they are not stickers actually - they are punched shapes from cardboard that I glued on.

I thought I'd do that with different picture for every time of the year - a spring one with us in the middle of blooming nature, adorned with flowers, a summer photo of us at the sea side, dressed with some shells and pebbles, an autumn photo in autumn forest, decorated with small colorful leaves,... What do you think about that?

I finally posted the snowman's closeup. I'll get better at posting, I guess Grin.
