Well its technically inspired by those Herve Leger bandage dresses, but its a recon so its going here.

Another story....

My bf understands that as a woman I have days that I do not like myself.  And to fix this he has always given me pep talks, these talks often include him comparing me to Athena/Kim K and calling me his future wife.  Grin The comparison to Kim K comes about because I just really like her and he knows this.  Well I'm turning 21 and haven't quite reached the goals I wanted to by this point in my life, and became somewhat depressed for a couple days.  After a pep talk from my bf I made this...

-ignore the vpl and awkward pose.

-ignore the lining seam, its from the flash of my cam.

Its my Kim K inspired 21st birthday dress!

I so so so lucked out at finding the fabric I did.  It was originally a 3xl polo shirt that I found at goodwill, luckily with no stains.  Just think BIG, I didn't get a before pic.  I totally winged the dress and could not be happier with it.  Its basically a very high waisted pencil skirt with two right triangles on top, and then darted where needed.

Definitely needs ironing and one last wash to be sure I'll be able to breath in it.

I really like it! I am amazed at people who can make things like that from t-shirts.

The dress is super cute---

I have a question not related to the dress though--- how do you get your cleavage like that?

always- no pattern, I just stared at various pictures of the herve dress until thats all I saw when I closed my eyes.  Cheesy

pinkweeds- the polo is pretty stretchy so I brought in the part around my ribcage to be about 1 or 2 inches smaller than it should be so the girls are just kinda resting there. the cup parts are heavily lined also so that may help too.

I love bandage dresses, but they never really seemed flattering or comfortable. This one does though, especially because of the fabric. I love Kim K. too, even though I don't publicly admit it. Hope you had a wonderful birthday!
