Oooh this looks like such fun- but packages take SOOOOO long to swap from South Africa! I would also be limited to lightweight items........
Will have to think about this one carefully. But I WANT to do it!!

If I mail some plants it would be things like dahlia corms or my iris rhizomes, so they don't have to be wet wet wet.  But I could do decorated things like pots, bags, suncatchers, etc.

Could we have it that if plants are agreed to be sent, they be sent separately and possibly later, because May 8th would still probably be before I would dig up some things and split them?  It is not unusual for my region to have that last dumping of snow in late April, early May at times, and sometimes temps still drop down to 0C or close to it in May.

Don't forget also maybe things like decorated glasses, cutlery, or plates for enjoying parties out in the garden Grin

Craftrica - want me to put a note that we have a potential S.African swapper and if any other S. Africans are interested to PM me?

Onyxnox - Yes, I think that'd be fine, so long as your partner agreed.  I'd think a plant would count for a small, though, if that would be okay.   (Hmm, feedback may be changed, if the second package doesn't make it - or maybe just delayed?  We can discuss if it becomes necessary! Cheesy)

holistic knitter - woo hoo!  Glad you can make it. Cheesy  I've put up a call out for other UK and European swappers for you. Smiley

If it helps some people, maybe people should also mention if they have sun/shade/part sun/shade, what type of soil they have (clay, sandy, etc), and anything else that could be a factor.

Oooh yes.  Good call.  I'll add it to the questionnaire! (Those who have already sent theirs in, please let your partner know!)

Great!

There must be some previous garden swaps we could link up as examples? (so I can browse them instead of folding laundry....)

I'm still planning to do this swap.  I've just been involved elsewhere for the last couple of days.

Had to celebrate my seventeenth anniversary!  I never thought we'd come this far together, so we did it up yesterday.

I'll be back with my questionnaire.
