We put a dishwasher into an empty space in the kitchen, and we needed a useable surface on top of it.  My boyfriend made a table to go over it out of some thick plywood. It needed to be coated anyway, so why not make it look awesome?



I don't have a before picture showing the bare wood, but here it is with just primer, ready to be painted:

That's pretty amazing.  How did you get the gridwork on the edge?  Great paint job.

Thanks! I did all the gridwork by hand with a ruler. I learned how from a book a long time ago.
