So I locked myself away from the public from a while so I could finish this. I was asked to create a piece for the National Zoo's annual event Zoofari. Hopefully it will be placed in their silent auction. I'm really excited about it because it's a pretty big deal and I was a nervous wreck about it. So I finally finished it. The mother is Mandara and the baby is Kibibi. It's 11"x14" in colored pencil. I can't believe I finished it. I'm so exhausted but I think it was worth it! I think I'm going to title it "Looking Forward."

Details of Mandara

Thank you so much! They asked me close to the deadline, so I asked if they could give me an extension so I'm hoping that they will. Otherwise I'll save it for them next year. I'm looking at this piece as their property. It's going to be hard parting with it, because it was such a labor of love for me!

Thank you, I really liked her eyes too.

I'm not too sure how long it took, but I know that I was working on it for roughly 2 weeks. I'm sure it was about 20 hours.

This is incredible. You can see the love the mother has for her child and the utter trust the child has in its mother.

So beautiful.

This is amazing! Beautiful. The detail is great. I'm sure if it is auctioned, it'll go for a lot!!
