I love that yellow apron!

OGD gave me her old bobbin holder when she upgraded to the fancy frisbee one and I've been jealous ever since!  Wink

Any news on the theft?  I hope you get your sewing machine back.

Any news on the theft?  I hope you get your sewing machine back.

No news and I have a feeling I won't be hearing anything.

I started researching new machines last night and I don't even know where to begin.   Mine was a pretty basic Kenmore that my parents bought for me six or seven years ago when I was in college. I want to get something nicer, but not too terribly expensive.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a new machine? I'd like it to be able to do automatic button holes- a feature I just recently discovered existed.   Wink  Perhaps in the $200 range.  I also am going to see if anywhere local sells used machines.

sometimes you can find a good machine really cheap at yard sales or at the flea market/swap meet, or I see a lot of them on Craigs List.

Imafundork check Goodwill online for good used sewing machines.  Different Goodwill stores auction things and I have seen some really nice sewing machines on there.  You may get lucky and get a good machine for a low price.  If you do a little research you will have a better idea of what is a good deal.  Lots of people give away machines that have hardly ever been used.  Also some of the things Goodwill sells are new too.

This gallery is looking real nice I can't wait until my partner gets her package.  I think she should get it by monday.

Overstock.com has some good deals, too! http://www.overstock.com/search?keywords=sewing%20machine&SearchType=Header I recently bought a new machine when they had Black Friday sales, but I was overwhelmed when trying to make a decision. I got a Singer Confidence 7467 at Joann, and it is awesome.

I love getting good deals on stuff, so I checked eBay, Amazon, and www.shopgoodwill.com. Smiley

Personal swaps... Would love to trade sewn stuff for some cool hand-carved stamps.

Have you tried overstock?  I have heard of people getting good deals there.

Thanks for the replies!  Last night, I was looking at Overstock.com and Craigslist, but I didn't realize that you could get things from Goodwill online.  I will definitely check that out!

I just printed postage and am heading out the PO now to mail my package to The Platypus Project.   Smiley

I got this one for my birthday in December.  It seemed like a good deal.

I love my Janome, there is something wrong with the button hole thingie though. It's the 4 step one, and it messes up on coming back up, so weird.

My next machine I think I want one meant for quilting, with a wider platform and a longer arm. Not a long arm machine, just the sewing machine for quilters. I was quilting a pretty small quilt last night and it was pretty frustrating.
