Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will.

I know Valentine's Day was a while ago,  but I finally got around to taking pictures of what I made my fiancee for V-T Day. I was inspired by all the little matchbox shrines people make here out on Craftster, but thought there was no way I could be that detailed - so I started with a much BIGGER matchbox - a box of 250 strike on box matches! That was more my size.

The wax impression bees on the front are for us - both our names begin with B.

When you open the drawer, a small book of kisses is inside.

The kisses book is a flip book of me blowing kisses that I made by following this tutorial on Color Me Kate's blog:

A false bottom in the box is removed to reveal - more matchboxes! These are normal sized, and were made from cardstock.

Contents of the Dreams matchbox - a small bottle of wishes (glitter), the 2 rings on the Future tag are because we're getting married in March, and a small I Love You capsule.

When the capsule is unscrewed, a small piece of paper is found rolled up inside - on it I'd written him a little poem:

The second matchbox:

Inside were lots of little trinket hearts I had collected, along with one that was embossed with the message, You Are In My Heart:

When those were removed, a small book was revealed:

Which was an accordian book of photographs we had taken after our engagement:

My fiancee LOVED it (he's super supportive and excited about all my craftiness).

Thanks for looking! Comments/suggestions/questions welcome!

Thanks for the comment! Yeah, I love mini things, too. I don't remember exactly where I got these (the capsule and the bottle) but a safe bet is from Manto Fev.com - they have a great selection of odds and ends.

This is so adorably great and so sweet!  I love the book within a box within a box.  It's really nice that your fiance appreciates your craftiness too.  Congrats on your pending nuptials!
so far, this is the oldest i've ever been.

What a great matchbox -- I love that it has a false bottom and more matchboxes inside.  Lovely!
