I recently made 4 costumes from scratch for my local community theatre's production of The Wiz. In addition I modified an existing suit coat and pants for the scarecrow. I did all of this in 2 weekends! I hope you enjoy. Here are the photos:

Evillene's Skirt (made off a Marie Antoinette - French style hoop skirt pattern with major mods...): It's a sheer pink fabric with swirly sparkles/glitter all over - it really sparkled on stage!

The Wiz's Cape: It was a shiny, sparkly green fabric.

Dorothy's Dress:

Lion's Ensemble - vest, hat, tail:

Scarecrow's Modified Suit - patches and distressing:

Thanks for the compliments. I had a lot of fun doing these!

What kind of material did you use for the Wizs cape?   I have to make one and I do not sew!! You want to rent it out?
