I've now made two hats based on the cabled newsboy pattern (from Stitch n' Bitch Nation) and neither of them have brims which is the whole reason I learned this pattern in the first place! (semi-frustrating  Undecided)

hat version 2.0 (the most recent):

found one skein of this lovely wool/mohair blend yarn at a thrift store for 75 cents! the golden yellow color is so great:

and this time I made it fit well too:

I had to go down a needle size and decrease the stitch count (by about 36 i think) to use this yarn, but it actually turned out to be a good use of the yarn. Sadly, I did not have enough left over to make a brim.

hat version 1.0 (the first attempt):

I like having a really slouchy hat, and the color is better in person:

however, I realized after I finished the purple version over Christmas break that I wouldn't want a brim on a hat that slouchy, even though I have the yarn for it.

And there you have itone day I will make another version with a brim!!

what lovely hats! I love both styles and colors you used, they look so warm too.

I just joined Ravelry, let's be friends?
