Ooooo Now I have hat envy! I might have to make one of these in a "pint sized" version for my niece. She's 2 and loves to steal mine from me all the time even tho its wayyyy to big for her Cheesy

Very inventive and crafty, I will have to check out this pattern on Ravelry.  I really want to make one if i can manage the craftiness of it.  I have some wipper snipper cord in my shed i'm pretty sure.  Nice job. my dad doesn't have a clue when i comes to crocheting.

Thanks for all the nice replies.  So far, this is my favorite design.  I wear one of these hats every day.

When I get comments about it, it's usually something like "Did someone make that for you?" or "Did your wife make that?"

I realize I'm definitely in the minority when it comes to being a male crocheter, and I crochet in public every chance I get to heighten the awareness of crochet (remarks like "what are you knitting?" are the usual starting comments) and to demonstrate that men crochet because it is just a skill and NOT a gender-specific skill.

The only "craftiness" to the making the hat is crocheting around the nylon cord.
