Hello everyone,

I made this mixed media collage for best buddy and fellow craftster Nven for christmas (we just did our friend's gift exchange this past weekend -omg, wait till she posts what she made for me!!!). Now that she has it, i can finally show it off Smiley
Its on an 8x6" canvas - i tried a bunch of new things and i'm pretty happy with how it came out. I think the most interesting product of my last couple of experiments is different ways to use insect wings in collage. in this case, i coated the butterfly wing with gel medium, which made it transparent and much less delicate, but the powdery texture was unfortunately lost.

what do you think?

I am in awe.  I can't wait to frame it and get it up on the wall!

Acid,  that looks really great.  I love how you used many different mediums and took inspiration from things such as nature and print.  I think that is my favorite kind of art.  The wings look great and from the picture perspective nothing seems lost by not having the powdery part.  Also,  if you have a link to the antiqued version of the bone painting I would love to see it.  Also very creative.  Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful! I love all of the different elements...especially the butterfly wing and the printed page in the background.
