Hi everyone!  I've been working on a spindle for just over a year but I recently bought a Kiwi.  I've been taking spinning classes with Beth Smith at The Spinning Loft in Howell, MI for the last four Saturdays (today was our last class, sniff) and last week we plied the mishmash singles we'd been spinning up for practice.  This is mine:

It's made of a multicolored roving and also some creamy merino top, Corriedale, and a few other things to make a Frankenply.  Sorry the pic is a bit dark.

This one is spindle plied, and uses the first single I ever made (it was lost for a long time) so it's very, very chunky.  It's all merino.

I'm loving spinning and making yarn.  Today we got to spin silk and OMG.  I brought home 2 oz of dyed Tussah to do...um...something with - just not sure what yet!  If you're anywhere close to Michigan, I can't say enough great things about Beth and what she's got going on there and I really encourage you to take some of her classes.  Plus she has great guest teachers in all the time.

Great job! I've been spinning on a drop spindle and I've been drooling over wheels. I love the first one!

Looks awesome!  I'm especially digging that bulky spindle plied one.

I'm very impressed.  These don't look like first-timer yarns!
