Love love love love.

I've been daydreaming in class of all the ways to reconstruct big men's button down shirts for the summer.  This is perfect, and it looks great on you!

This is such a lovely dress! I have a great enormous button-down waiting for the day I am able to buy a new sewing machine, just do I can do this. I like the color of yours better though, haha. I might have to dye mine.

Very cute, I'll be on the look out for shirts I can use for this project.

Did I have a hilarious time trying this project -- this is not the best idea for tall girls!  I got my gigantic shirt (the longest one I could find), but once I started cutting and sewing, I was basically making myself a fitted shirt with a weird skirt-esque bottom half!  By the time it was done the bottom of the skirt hit the widest part of my thighs!    Shocked

It was great fun, though, and SO easy.  I think I'll turn the sleeves into fabric flowers.  Smiley

crystabrittany, i'm so sorry it didn't work out for you!  that's weird though, i'm about 5'9" and didn't have any trouble with it.  I guess you could add a panel at the bottom or something, but fabric flowers are another option!

Oh I certainly haven't given up on the concept; it just might need a little tweaking for me.  I think I was in trouble when so much of the shirt fabric was taken up covering my top half... Mother Nature has seen fit to endow me well, which I'm sure is great for something, but not so much for well-fitting shirts!   Tongue
