I made a set of dotees for the current dotee swap. The bodies are foam board, with beads/yarn/paper for embellishments but I wanted the faces to have some character. I made them from fimo, the fimo was very soft and very frustrating to work as I started with a ball and moulded from there, I have since been pointed in the direction of better techniques.

They were moulded, painted with acrylics and then hair and bodies glued on.

C&C very welcome.

all four

the faces.

at this magnification the painting looks a little clumsy, there is a standard small box of matches beside for scale

Really nice!!  I really love the amulets and other small abstract figures that can be made, whether they use a lot of clay or a little (or even none at all).  So many ways to go and materials to use, and don't have to do the whole realistic clay body thing for them to be creative and fabulous  Grin

What the heck are "dotees"? Huh

I am looking on a cell phone which of course makes tiny detail even more wee but still, these are wonderful. Such character in those fun faces, I love each one of them.
