My plan was to make my husband a quilt for Christmas, by embroidering the comic sketches that he's collected over the years onto the squares. Life got in the way, and I only had one complete by Christmas...but, it is his favorite character, Doctor Strange (based on a sketch by John Romita). I've already started on a (Phil Noto) Superman and a (John Byrne) Thing. Each character will be stitched in a different color. This is the biggest project I've ever attempted, so I'm hoping that posting about it will nudge me into action to finish it up!

Ha - I work at a snail's pace, so it probably will be Christmas 2010 before I'm done!

Awesome! I love that it really looks like a sketch. The lines are really lively.

What a neat idea, and a great start! I like how you're combining something he loves with such a traditional keepsake like a quilt.

This is a great stitchery! I wonder if you'll be doing a Brother Doctor Voodoo one as well. Smiley

Hmmm...tempting, since that is one of the few Marvel books that Mr. Spookshow is still reading regularly.
