I made my dad into Mr. Gibbs from Pirates! My brother and I decided that he could pull it off and I informed him that he would be Mr. Gibbs for the super cool costume party that Rufous03 and I had together. Here are a couple of pictures.

Complete with a flask (don't worry, there was nothing in it. It was purely a prop! Wink I couldn't get him to shave part of his beard in the middle because he DOES have to go to work and he didn't want to go missing a chunk of his beard. Ha ha ha.

Me on the right in my Scottish dress, Dad in the middle in his Mr. Gibbs outfit (I made the vest, the boot overlays and the scarf thing around his neck.) and Rufous03 in her fairy costume!

In case you didn't know who Mr. Gibbs was, that's him from pirates. I also couldn't find any good ones of his costume, so I had to watch the 2nd pirates movie to figure out how I'd do it.

I have some more pictures from the party in this post on my blog.

I don't know you personally, but you three are so adorable together! Your dad seems like a really great guy. That's funny about the beard. When I was little (5 or younger) my dad used to let me and my sisters give him haircuts. If he had a beard, it would have been shaved down the middle! Anyways, great costomes and great photos! You should make a scrapbook next!

Aw, thanks, Lexa! Yeah, I have one that I need to add to (scrapbook). I haven't added to it in a million years, but I should. Hmm, much to ponder.

good job on the costume - he looked great!  and he won a prize.   Smiley  the party was a good idea, we should definitely do it again.
