Hi!  I made this for my sweetie during her naptime today.  I would've liked the skirt to be twirlier, but I think it's okay for my first try.  Smiley

Oh, don't let appliques scare you! If pinning it is a pain for you, get some of the fusible webbing that comes in sheet and iron that baby on before you sew it! It's one of the cheapest ways to embellish and it's GREAT for delving into your scrap bag!

I love this dress-I am SO doing some of these for the twins! Cute, cute!

Thanks everyone! Smiley  I agree with Brawweelass - fusible webbing is a great lifesaver!  Especially when sewing an applique onto something stretchy, like a cotton tee.

Good job mom!  LOVE the fabric.  My daughter has a t-shirt that she loves that has gotten too short, so I was thinking of making it into a dress.  How did you figure how long to cut the fabric you were adding?

sgriffin - i would suggest making the first ruffle layer at least 4 times the width of the tee - when laying flat on a table or something (basically twice the circumference of the tee).  and then maybe make the next ruffle 1.5 or 2x the length of the first layer.  i haven't actually gotten around to making another one yet, but that's what i will do when i can find some more time.   Roll Eyes  post any pics if you try it!
