DMC never bleeds... It's the best brand in the world, and I won't use anything else anymore (though I am currently embroidering with mystery yarn too :p)
I don't know what it is exactly, but DMC does somethign special with the threads so that they never bleed and other brands just haven't figured it out yet :p.

Actually some DMC does bleed. I have had brighter colors bleed when I wash in cold water. Usually a red or a blue.

I have washed pieces(cold water always) and never had any problems. It does always worry me. Just take your colours and stitch four squares, get it really wet and rub the areas with your finger hard back and forth. Let it dry and you should know if it bleeds.

I won't be washing my anime girl because of all the different reds. Really worried that it might change the white into a pink!!

I don't even need to rub my threads to know that they will bleed big time! I made a mistake with bright orange, and pulled it out. My fabric was all orange-ish. Without ever touching water. No good... The cloth is very dirty, but I'm way too afraid to wash it. Because, just like you said HistoricalNeedle, I have some bright red next to white.

I would like to join and add mine too.  It's Dimension's "Enchanting Geisha" from the Gold Collection.  I started working on her back in late 2008 in bits and pieces.  It's unlikely I'll finish her by 2011 since my first child is due in three weeks!  But I figure a 2011 thread will be started eventually.....

Here's what the finished one is supposed to look like:

And here's what I've got thus far:

Finished her hands, chest, shoulder, and part of her robe:

Also, I'm going to start another project simultaneously because I just can't resist:

It's from the Secret of Monkey Island, original version of course ^_^  Imported into KXStitch.  Just waiting for my black aida cloth to come in the mail (nobody sells 18 count black aida around here....)

OMG!!!!  I LOVE Monkey Island.  I played it for hours and hours when I was younger.  I think you may have inspired me to make a monkey island image too.  And maybe one from kings quest, and the island of doctor brain.  LOVE IT!!!

They just don't make games like they used to!  I love the old point and click adventures- I think MI was my first big one, I was about 12 when I discovered it.  Though I remember some of the text-based ones on the commodore 64 (Wizard of Oz?) Nowadays I think people don't have the attention span for them so much... =(  So nobody really makes them anymore.  I loved KQVI, and of course all the LucasArts games.  That would be so awesome seeing more people do old skool computer game needleworks.

I've got to do more on mine.  I love seeing what everyone else has been up to!  It's inspiring.  Smiley

I am so far behind where I hoped to be.  Thanks to some health stuff I haven't even felt like stitching in months.  Maybe this winter during the break I'll get back into it!

Looking to de-stash cross stitch magazines, particularly Cross Stitch Gold or New Stitches?  Please drop me a line!  I'd love to swap or buy some missing from my library!
