OK this is cool. The pages are pretty so far. I was going to do my own embroidery stitch book with 12"x12" pages, but 4"x4" seems a lot less intimidating. Count me in. I'm getting started on my first page right now!

I've just surfaced from an afternoon cleaning my basement and setting up my sewing area. I've just stumbled on this thread and so I'll take it as a sign from the gods that I'm meant to jump in and play. No idea what I'll do or where to begin but I'm in!

I'm still thinking about this... I may use it as an incentive to make my sewing tute samples... but I have to finish up a project that needs mailing first.
If I do, my pages are probably going to larger, since I have to do several zipper versions. I'm thinking more like 5X9', and they need to be able to see the reverse side, so the pages would not be doubled.
I had someone ask me to teach a sewing class, and this is an important tool I'd need.  Because they'd all have to make thier own!

that's a brilliant idea KLKing!  I have a bunch of samples like that somewhere from when I took fashion design, and they are handy to have.

I'm pretty excited that a lot of people are jumping in. Lots of talented craftsters! Cheesy

I did one more page, and kind-of did what will end up being the cover.

this is a page... I had to add that purple bit on the edge because somehow the blue fabric kept getting smaller  Huh

this is what will be the cover. I didn't do all that beading recently, I had it stuck on my inspiration board since I did it last summer, and this seemed like a good use for it! I just sewed it onto a piece of felt and backstitched the "my fiber fat book" onto it.

I'm wondering how many pages are in the traditional fatbook... Just enough till it becomes fat enough?

Just beautiful. I love your front cover!

I'm not sure yet how many I want to make, or if there's a set number?

Wow, Nooo, I saw the pic of your cover and just stared in amazement for about a minute or so... The bead, sequins, everything work on it is simply gorgeous! and I'm jealous! LOL! And is that a zig-zag stitch over some yarn on the other page you made? It looks very intriguing and I like it Smiley

As for pages, I'm thinking I'm going to do one page per month (so I'll have twelve double-sided pages at the end of the year) and then bind them together in December... this way I can start making one fat book a year to see how my sewing skills and creative juices change/get better over long periods of time ^_^
