I want to be crafty forever!

I recently moved into a new house (Yay! for new decorating space!), but I didn't enjoy being in the BLAH kitchen very much. It drained me and it's the hub of the house!
So here's what I did. I painted it purple! As I was painting it, I thought it was a little too Easter egg-ish. For the first time ever, I questioned my vision. But I pressed on.... and I am so glad I did.

The kitchen was about as exciting as...well.....hmmm..... I can't seem to come up with anything...

I painted the bottom half darker than the top and free-handed the flowery design on the bottom as well as the back-splash.  (I also did all the artwork hanging on the wall too!)

I am trying to deal with the old appliances for a while and make the most of my space until I win the lottery and can make a few trips to IKEA and get myself a new kitchen (among other things). I've since put plants in my wall holders and that adds a nice fresh feel, I think.
I thought about painting my cabinets white. But, the purple almost makes them bearable for a while. I wouldn't do that until Spring if I do it at all.

I also designed and painted my window for a little more privacy (it's street side).  I love it when the sun shines through and throws the color all over my kitchen!

Thanks for looking!! This is my first post! Tell me what you think!!

Oh my goodness!!! I love the whole thing!!!! I need to go get paint now! I think if I had to choose a favorite part, it would be the window! What did you use to paint it? Totally amazing work!

Really nicely done dear.  A very cohesive design.  It feels like a friendly little cafe that I'd like to stop into for a hot chai with a good friend.  Smiley

Wow! To be honest, when I read that you painted it purple before I scrolled down I thought it was goping to look like easter or a cave depending on the darknes, but i love it! It looks really great and the free hand flowers, I thought it was wallpaper. I think it with the contrast of the darker cabinets. Looks really rich, and what did you use to paint the window? That looks awesome!

Thanks for all of the lovely comments!  I really appreciate them!  Cheesy

The paint for the window was a "stained glass" paint that I bought at the craft store.  I don't have it handy - and my son is napping on me - so I can't run and check the name....but it was in the aisle with the regular crafty paints and wall rub-ons.  You may check there!

It looks great!  I like all your paintings on the wall too.  Depending on how much sun the kitchen gets, and how much time you have I would go a head and paint the cabinets white.  The wood cabinets looks fine I just think it would make the kitchen seem newer.  Great job on the window it is my favorite part.  Cheesy

What a difference! Love the paint job on the walls. And the flowers on the rug!
