Details of swap:
In this swap everyone will pick a favorite story, poem, myth, etc that they would like to have illustrated. The stories will be broken into sections and shared with your group. Each person in the group will craft one part from everyone’s story and will receive a different part of their story from each person. So everyone will end with an illustrated/decorated story with each page done by a different crafter.

Swap Rules:
~ Send your story to organizer on time (by end of signups) for approval
~ If your story is not approved you must be ready to pick another one quickly. If it is too long you can decide to only have part of it crafted (saving the rest for yourself or a future round of this swap)
~ Keep stories and art PG13, NO exceptions.
~ For each page you craft you must include the text of your section (this can be done creatively or not, but should look nice)
~ This is a craft swap, be creative! Put effort into your work; think about what you would like to receive. If it takes only five minutes to craft you might want to re-think it.
~ Do not alter the text of any section you are crafting unless you have approval from your partner (and let organizer know)
-Include your artist information on a small card (think ATC size) for each page you create
- PM your partner and organizer when you send and receive. You must get a DC# for this swap, if you can’t get one due to size/weight then you must keep your receipt as proof of sending.
- You will get feedback for this swap when all your pages have been sent & received, and when you post pictures of all the pages you receive in the gallery.

Be creative! Your pages can be done in a variety of ways; collages, comic book format, spiraling words, paint, 3-D popup, computer graphics, photographs, pictures done in cross stitch, etc

When it’s time to post pictures in the gallery please post your received story pages in chronological order so everyone can read it!

Page setup options, use this to describe how you want your pages to be and refer to this when you are crafting your partner(s) pages (you will only be decorating one side of the paper):
Traditional page – Longest sides of paper are the sides of the page, shortest sides are the top and bottom of the page
Sideways page – Longest sides of paper are the top and bottom of the page, shortest sides are the sides of the page
Folded page - Fold paper in half, fold will be between the short sides of the paper (this creates two “pages” on one side)
Binding strip – The amount of room on any given side that needs to be left blank for binding

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

Hi! This sounds like a great swap. I will keep it in mind. Smiley  Have a quick question- the size of the basic page that you're refering to- is it an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet? And then you can decide which way to turn and or fold it? I'd love to have 12 x 12 pages if that's an option. I think I'd adore having a group of people illustrate Peter Pan for me to use in my kid's room! I'll def. have to keep this in mind. Is this the first swap like this? Thanks for organizing!

I was thinking the pages should all be 8 1/2" x 11" or smaller because they are easy to find and can be cut down... But if enough people are willing to go bigger then that's a possibility  Smiley

I'm not sure if this is the first swap like this... I was inspired by the 1,000 journal swap that is on the discussion board

and here is the discussion for this swap if anyone is interested

I am seriously wishing that I had the time to do this swap.  I have so much going on between now and the send out date that I'm limiting myself to "easy" swaps.  I don't think I could do this one justice if I joined.  But I LOVE the concept!  I hope there's another round that I can join maybe over the summer.   Cheesy  I can't wait to see what everyone does!

Really glad to have people sign up so quickly  Cheesy I hope some more of you thinking about it will come and join us  Smiley If you're hesitant you can always sign up for just one partner and make this a super easy, low pressure, low shipping cost swap  Wink

Ooo, just had a thought, goatgoddess - "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" as the basic story, with all the characters portrayed by goats...the dwarves being pygmy goats! They don't go to the mines to work, they go out to graze. Cheesy teeheehee
Actually just about any story would be improved if the characters were portrayed by goats...that's just my opinion.  Grin

I'm rather excited about this swap. I'm going to find some links to compilations of stories and post them to jog folks' memories. Meanwhile, for inspiration or just happy eye candy, check out this awesome package from the Altered Fairy Tales Swap, with an altered book telling the story of Cinderella mixed with Dia de los Muertos: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=333292.msg3864451#msg3864451

Does your household accumulate lots of dryer lint and empty toilet paper rolls? If you'll turn them into fire-starters for me, (stuff lots of lint inside the roll, fold edges, maybe add some candle wax), I'll happily send you something nice.
