thanks gals! I think I'm blushing from all this yarn flattery Grin corespinning is all I want to do lately. I need to blend up more fiber so I can spin more! I have yet to try corespinning with roving - maybe I'll do that soon.

I'll definitely post a photo of the finished hat!

I can't believe it's fiber friday (well saturday now) I completely forgot what day it was! I thought it was Thursday.

Anyways, I finished this two days ago. Some more Sheep Shed Studio specially dyed superwash. Of all the fiber colors I have this one is my absolute favorite. It's sooo pretty!

Nesse -  I love your corespun yarn. I would love to try that one of these days!

Nesse! Peakin through the trees ...  The green is pretty, but with that pale blue-ish color ... Wah!  Beautiful!  Did you card that yourself?  I wish I knew how to corespin.  I have a few spinning books and i tried it once ... eek.  Totally lost control over it.  I'm doing something wrong.  I have to watch somebody do it.  It's really the only way I can learn these kinds of things.  Maybe today when the baby takes a nap ... Then I can look on youtube for some video tutorials.

**A few hours later .... Thank You Jazz Turtle!!!  see link for her 5 Part youtube  tutorial!!!**

I was definitely treadling too fast ... (Duh. Of course that seems so obvious now that I think about it ...)

thanks anicka! 'peakin through the trees' was actually spun from a roving that I dyed. I was so excited to spin it, I didn't even get a picture of the unspun fiber Cheesy most of my corespun yarns are spun from batts I carded myself, along with batts from other awesome fiber artists.
how'd your corespinning come out?? I'd love to see it!

sweetnightmare: thanks you should totally try it! I feel like I have to most control when I corespin. your yarn is beautiful as always! do you have plans for it?

Nesse!  And everyone ... oh to be a fly on the wall when I tried to corespin after diligently watching the tutorials ... It was a disaster.  I need more practice.  It was really tightly wound around the core, and the core kept twisting also.  Sometimes the two would ply together and it looked like burgundy wool plied with white crochet cotton.  Finally, the core thread snapped and the baby woke up.  End of corspinning for trial #1.  I'm still treadling too fast, so I think I have to use only one treadle (I have a double ...) and see if that slows me down.  I've already got the drive band on the slowest ratio .... so I just have to practice.  I have some icky roving that is of a non-identified breed, rather sticky(greasy), and scratchy as all get out.  It was the first roving I had found here in Prague, and before I knew of etsy, etc.  but I'm glad to have it now so I can practice.  I'll let you know how it turns out.  Baby should be going down for a nap in a few hours ...

Incidentally, i 've been having trouble uploading pics to craftster ...  but my user name on flikr is bohutinska, and I have some of my yarns there.
