Very cute and very good for your first job.

Here is 2 ways you can add long sleeves.
Using a pair of socks

Also, the shirt didn't hold up in the wash. Maybe I didn't do the right kind of stitch or something. Anybody know what might have happened?? At least she got to wear it once. It was cute.

Great beginning. Now when she out grows it this time, and of course she will, sew the arms , neck, and tail shut. Stuff with some fiber fil, and you have a little pillow. It will be a good memory of a cute shirt, plus your first project.
