Hi all -
I asked Sew Help Me is she was interested in resurrecting the 200 Crochet Blocks (book by Jan Eaton) CAL, and she gave me her blessing in starting it back up. In fact, I think she'll be joining us - yay!

For inspiration here is the #52 Lemon Peel pattern I did last year (in lime green):

I thought I would list a new square at the beginning of each month. If we want to rotate the decision among participants, that would be great. If not, I'll choose one. And because I hope to finish two or three 6-8" squares a month (to go along with my 12" squares I make in the other crochetalong), I thought I'd also post a bonus/filler pattern that I find elsewhere.

January
#189 Willow (my fave so far!)
Bonus: Castle's End Square

February
#161 Daisy Chain (chosen by craftADDchick - thanks!)
Bonus: Spider in the Barn Square (chosen by zombiecazz - thanks!)

March
#94 Gothic Square (chosen by zombiecazz - thanks!)
Bonus: 6 or 7 inch Gothic Square

April
#78 Briar Rose (chosen by Gspinn - thanks!)
Bonus: Wagon Wheel Granny Square - by our very own OnePinkHippo!

May
#111 Four Square or #209 Marigold (chosen by Selnith - thanks!)
Bonus: Circle of Friends Square (chosen by Gspinn - thanks!)

June
#76 Granny Stripes (chosen by love2teach - thanks!)
Bonus: #29 Bobble Stripes (Selnith chose either page 299 or #299, this book has neither so I chose #29)

July
#88 Edwardian Fancy (chosen by Junior_Mint - thanks!)
Bonus: Four-Pointed Star (chosen by love2teach - thanks!)

August
#86 Sunray
Bonus: Sunflower Square

September
#69 Fudge - chosen by craftADDchick - thanks!
Bonus: Chocolate Chip Cookie Square - chosen by zombiecazz - thanks!

October
#74 Seville
Bonus: Bess's Lace Square

November
#197 Fretwork
Bonus: Nordic Star Square

December
#92 Victorian Lace
Bonus: Lace Medallion Square

I hope you'll all join us!

Okay, since you're posting the blocks we'll be doing, I may play along. I'm working on motifs for my motif blanket, and if I think the blocks will work, I'll make 'em Wink

Now, I just have to find my copy of my book...

YAY - I'm glad you're playing along! It will be interesting to see which squares you do and how you may morph them into more of a motif than a square.

Morphing is allowed. In fact, I very rarely ever follow a pattern exactly. Although sometimes that is due to a "mess up" earlier on that I have to accommodate for  Grin

I'm going to be using my squares in this CAL with the 12" squares I'm making in the CAL that you are leading. So you'll get to see the same boring colors - cream and browns, until I'm done with that blanket! Then I may switch to vivid colored cottons.

Some of the 200 block patterns are great for dish/wash cloths too.

Happy to join in.
Although I'm fairly sure my present blanket that I'm working on has at least 3 Willow squares in it already.  Grin

YAY, another player! I'm so glad you'll be with us. When I chose Willow, I actually wondered if that would be an issue! I already have one Willow for my current blanket, so perhaps I will do one in a different fiber/color for my next blanket. I'm also doing one in thread and adding extra rows to make a coaster.

I've just finished a whole blanket of Willows  Grin
but I'll happily make another, my project of the month is my hubby's blanket. He'll be going into hospital this year for surgery and I promised to have his blanket ready for when he goes in.

Wow, that's really beautiful! Is it white or off-white? Is your next blanket going to be all willows, or are you going to mix em up?

I'm glad you are going to join us!

You know what? I'm totally game on this. I don't post much on here, I'm a little bit of a lurker, but for this, I'm up for it!
