So this is my first time posting here, hope I do it right.

Inspired by all the awesome samplers I saw on here of quotes and fun R-rated phrases, I decided to do something similar for some of my friends and family for Christmas presents. I have sadly fallen into that trap of always feeling like I have to make my presents, rather than just buying stuff. I also framed them all (mostly in dollar-store frames which I then spent WAY too long repainting and customizing to go with the piece). They were all huge hits.

The nitty-gritty details: all are stitched on Aida of varying sizes with good ol' cotton floss. For a few of them I blended in some metallic thread (a trick someone taught me is to buy metallic threads in the regular thread section, rather than buying blending filaments - great selection, possibly cheaper!). I designed out all the samplers on graph paper first, using alphabets and borders found in pattern books. I did design the high heeled shoe myself, however. I worked on these off and on from late October, and am glad I started so early. I was literally framing them the day before they were unwrapped.

First off, based on an episode of The Office of which my friend is very fond, "Classy." With chocolate-dipped strawberries.

Next up, a set of three pieces inspired by White Christmas, which is one of my mom's and aunt's (and mine, for that matter) movies.
For my mom, "With not so much as a kiss my foot or have an apple."

For my aunt who loves snow, "Vermont should be beautiful this time of year. All that snow."

And for the two of them to keep in their office, because they are some of the closest sisters in the world, "Lord help the mister who comes between me and my sister."

And finally, for my husband, because it's one of his favorite action movie quotes. "Shit just got real."

Thanks for looking!!

Wow I love these! The chocolate covered strawberries are really clever! And hooray for the nod to Vermont! It is crazy snowy here right now Tongue

Thank you both! I just used a pre-existing strawberry pattern and made part of it brown, but I think it got the job done Smiley And I am very jealous of the snow. Here in Seattle it's like high 40s.

Thanks guys!
My mom (and husband, and aunt) all quote the movie year-round. It's just hilarious. I was also going to make my mom one that said "In many ways you're far superior to my cocker spaniel" as well (since she has a dog) but alas, ran out of time.
