Hi every one! Apologies for not posting, I've been too busy crafting, and making plans for the Holiday Handmade Crusade 2011 (bigger and better babies)! Since I last popped in I finished a pair of thrummed mittens for my mom, and now I am working on a stuffed animal for my nephew. As of last night, my Christmas tree is up, I just ate leftover pie for breakfast and I've got eggnog in my coffee...

I AM SO EXCITED! The holidays are here! They are here!

Hi guys!  So last night this early morning (2 a.m.) a friend and I finished a huge project that was in the works for a week and a half.  Advent calendars for her two girls (aged 4 and 5).  Now, she is not a crafter at heart, and I am not as exacting as she is, but between the two of us we made 2 calendars that are a) pretty cute and b) fit all the packages.  I learned a lot from this process (top of the list -- INSIST she begin crafting with me in OCTOBER next year, don't let her wait til the last minute) and am looking forward to making another cloth calendar for my nephew (after some recovery time).  I made him an upcycled canvas/laminate sample/papercrafty one (posted back a way in this thread) that he LOVES but that was not the best construction; my sis had to untape all the gifts from the back and tape them back on one at a time.  But it has been a HUGE hit, and he needs one he can keep and use year after year.   

But I digress -- onto the photos taken earlier today (with action shots).  The girls got to open 5 gifts today as we are 5 days late finishing.  It is okay though, they were thrilled.

Anyway, that is one major project done, now onto cabled legwarmers for my sis (to match her scarf) and coasters, placemats, and napkins for my mom and her partner!

Here are some of my handmade gifts for this Christmas.

My Christmas baking: chocolate-raspberry thumbprints, sucre a la creme, gingerbread reindeers, sugar cookie spirals.



My Harry Potter gift for my sister. I don't have pics of the content but I wrapped it with daily prophet covers that had her face on them (you can do these manips on the HP website).
