I have a friend who is a "bee hobbyist"? (Not sure what she calls herself, but she has a couple of hives that she tends and eventually hopes to get honey from.)  ANYWAY...this was a little something I came up with to give as a Christmas gift, made of cotton and fleece with a sterling charm.  It closes with two vintage buttons I failed to take a picture of. Its message refers to the disturbing decline in bee populations which will affect pollinization, which will affect food supplies, etc, etc.....  Pretty deep for a coffee sleeve!!

Beautiful job.

The message is clear.  And true, unfortunately.

I'm sure your friend will love it.

Your friend is a beekeeper. Unless she is in the mood to be pretentious, in which case she might refer to herself as an apiarist. Wink

Speaking as a beekeeper myself, I think your coffee sleeve is adorable. Where did you find the fabric? I absolutely can. not. resist. anything with bees on it.

I love that. I would love to keep a hive or two. I think bees are fascinating, and the fact that they're dying off is just so disturbing. I watched a special on it the other day. So depressing. I have a tattoo of a bee, and I keep thinking about how sad it'll be if one day we only have images of bees left.

Wow!  Just came back to this post - thanks everyone for your great comments!  As for the bee fabric....I have no idea - maybe Tall Mouse, but its been in my stash forever. (Tall Mouse - some people think I'm crazy when I say that - its a store in CA - not sure what other states have them!) Wink And yes - she probably does call herself a bee keeper now that you mention it - she is a jack of all trades - just one of her many titles.  LOL
