So I was sitting around after Christmas with my creative juices still stirred from all my Christmas crafting and the oddest idea formed.  I pictured Bill the Cat (from the outland comic strip) after being hit by a car only as a stuffed animal.  I thought noooo I can't make that!  That is terrible.  But then again that never stopped me before.  So I pulled out my fabric stash and got to work.    This was the result, his name is splat.  Splat the Cat.

I couldn't leave him without a friend and since my daughter requested a dog I made Terrance.  Terrance the tire tread terrier (AKA Austin the very flat Boston)  This is my first post so go easy on a girl!  What do you think?

Oh and here is a blurry side view so you can see how skinny they are.

I LOVE your idea both in design and (excuse the pun) the execution! I just bought a tire treaded phone cover and would love to have a road kill phone case! thank you so much for the inspiration and for making me laugh  Wink. keep on crafting!

Ooh I can just see the road kill phone case line now.  You could do a squirrel, a turtle or maybe even a chihuahua!  My daughter has actually requested a chihuahua.  I'm still trying to decide how to do the face.  I'm thinking it might be easier to take the stuffing out of one of the taco bell dogs, flatten him out and add the tire tread.  Add a pocket for the phone, a shoulder strap and there you go!

Sick, but cute.  And the tire tracks, nice addition.  Good job!!

That is so funny!  Does anyone remember the "Fred the dead cat" that was sold back in the early 80's?  Similar, but yours looks better.  This is a riot!

I looked at various tire tread patterns online.  When I found one that I liked I copied it free hand with black paint.  I dry brushed it on so it wouldn't be perfect like skid marks on the road.
