Congrats, Deanna.

I'm sort of on crafting hiatus for a week or so.  I need to get into a routine with my grandkids, then I'll get back to doing some crafting.  Right now it's about coloring books, board games and lots of hugs. Cheesy

I'm joining you on your hiatus P!  Unfortunately I don't have a great reason like grandkids or routines.

I have been trying to sew for three days straight now and everything I touch seems to get uglier and uglier by the second!!  So I am putting the sewing machine down and walking away while everything is still in one piece.  The utter failure has kind of stolen any desire I have to work on other crafts.  And the ones I do have done, from last week, I can't seem to find the motivation to take pictures of them so I can post them here, so all in all I am stressed and stinking at the craft area of life!  I do it for fun and for my mental health, and when it's only making me feel worse, it's time to let it go for a bit.

I'm quite sure it won't last for more than a week or so and in fact am hoping that the self-imposed banning of craftiness will actually jump start my creativity and help me get back in the groove.  I will be posting updates when they happen!   Grin

My blog: http://messymama.wordpress.com
Am taking a crafting/posting hiatus and formally withdrawing from all the CAL's I was in.  Need time to recharge and rewire.  But, I am still lurking and loving you guys like crazy, keep posting the amazing projects!!!  You all rock!

Juicebox - what kind of sewing machine are you going to buy?  There are some really decent ones out there - and a bunch you should avoid like the plague!

I'm going to be taking a crafting break as well (yes, I do believe the Earth stood still for just a few seconds when I typed that) but only because we are going to Washington DC for a bit.  It's a good 12 hour drive but the kids are so excited!!

I'll catch up with you guys when I get back.  I can only imagine how many pages will accumulate by the time I get back!

I am going to to take hooks, fluff, yarn, etc with me on the roadtrip.  We'll see how much I actually get done.  I'm beginning on a ninja today in the car....

I am collecting quilts, afghans & blankets for those that lost their homes.  Pm me!

I will be spending some time with my great nieces and nephews over the summer...my six year old great niece and I will be doing some fun crafts--she wants a tutu and a glittery crown...I am working on her paper birthday cake surprise (sharlamarz--I cannot get the template to fit on 12x12 paper so I shrunk it down a bit...I still think it will turn out fine!)...

Everyone--don't burn out halfway!!  Take a break and enjoy life! Eat a hot dog and a banana split!  Let your crafting mojo be your guide as to when to return to your creative self!

I'm leaning towards a Janome 11542. It's refurbished but I get a two year warranty so i think it's a good deal.

On a whim I bought "One Yard Wonders" and decided to add 5 projects from it onto my list (The 5 projects counting as one thing).  The first of these was a super quick and adorable little handkerchief top for my niece, which took maybe 20 minutes altogether, AND was made completely from supplies that I got from bobbiemay in the Givers and Needers swap!

She is such a little ham...

She is so cute. The top too.  I have been looking at that book for a while, too.  What do you think?
