hmm

would cookery projects count? my cooking experience is practically zero and i want to learn for when i can finally afford to live on my own again, this would give me some incentive to actually get down to it

I used some new, bigger recipes on my 50 things list last year...

Oh! I'm in! I need the motivation.   I'll have to think about a list.
I think cooking should totally count- especially if you are trying new things. I'm a pretty experienced cook, so I'll probably only count that if I create a new dish from scratch.
Right off the bat, I can say I want to:
1. Try freezer paper stencilling. It just looks like a lot of fun and I love the simple look of the designs.
2. Try book binding (coptic stitch). Because it just looks like fun and I love handbound books.
3. Make crayon stained glass paper. I've been meaning to for years really.
4. Try crayon-tinted embroidery. It's just cute and fun.
5. Make soap. It scares me (possible lye explosions), but I've wanted to do it for ages!
6. Knit a scarf. I really want to learn to knit, and a scarf seems like an easy starting point.
7. Make a wacky-paper art journal. I love them and I have some painted pages that a previous swap partner made me to start out.
8. Paint a tree mural in my hall. Because it would make me so happy every day.
Okay, I'll have to keep thinking about this.

3. Tote bags

5. Find something to do with the 2 yards of glittery butterfly fabric (it was on clearance I had to buy it)
6. Plastic canvas shelf sitter for daughter
7. Toys for Toy Society
8. Finally turn the empty cat litter buckets into outdoor foot stools
9. Laptop case/cover???
10. Tampon case???

12. Felt Rock band pieces to throw at the tv when the game gets us mad
13. Game jar
14. Finish a poodle skirt started by a friend
15. A skirt for me, really nervous about measurements

17. Revamp a lampshade, not sure what I’m going to do with it yet, just looks yucky now
18. Make Vodka Skittles
19. 10 count pc Thanksgiving scene
20. 10 count pc winter scene

Do you have to list all fifty project before starting? My crafting lists are ever growing and developing- I don't think I could create a list of fifty- every year I do at least fifty different crafts and would like to join

Teag, I'm pretty sure you DON'T have to list all fifty. I mean, really, how many crafters do you know that already know what crafts they will be doing 10 or 11 months from now!!  Certain not me.  I have a starting point (about 30) with things I know I wanna do now, but I will add to it as the year goes on.

excellent, i really dont cook at all (i can just about manage toast!) so everything is a challenge for me.

I have made soap before and its fun, if a little scary, make sure you set aside a whole day for it though, it took me far longer than i had anticipated!

If you can make soap, then you can definitely cook! You either have to be able to follow a recipe or be willing to experiment and order pizza if it doesn't work out. (Or both! ) Having several openminded guinea pigs diners available to try out your creations is handy too.

Ok I combined a few lists I already had and then added some projects and now have my fifty. Hopefully I will be able to complete the majority of them, some are big tasks!
