I setup a little Twilight holiday exchange with some of my Twilight loving friends this year. Because I can't afford to go out and buy them all shirts and other things from Hot Topic, I decided to embroider some of their favorite quotes on some muslin and make pretty hoop frames.
Warning: I've never embroidered before, and I had picked up Embroidered Effects by Jenny Hart before starting these projects. Be prepared for some scary looking work!  Shocked

"Don't take too long, Mrs. Cullen."

This was the very first embroidery I've ever done and was particularly brutal being that its tiny intricate cursive. I used stem stitch for the lettering and the outline of the feather. The shaft of the feather is split stitch.

"I just couldn't live in a world where you don't exist."

The second one I made. You may recognize the hidden stitch swirls from the "Born to Stitch" pillow pattern in Embroidered Effects. Where Jenny did them in stem stitch I went for a hidden stitch with a metallic black thread. I debated on adding the lotus at the end, but I felt like the whole piece needed some color other than purple and black.

"Oh, and also, I'm wretchedly in love with you."

This one has to be my favorite, in part because it's from Midnight Sun and the other because it was big enough that I could add a lot more design elements to it. The sparrows are from the jeans project and the flowers and vines were modified scans from the sugar skull dress project. The text and sparrows were done in stem stitch (I only noticed the left bird's wing was messed up after it was too late) and the vines were done in lazy fern. I really need more practice with my lazy daisies, but I think they turned out decent for never doing them before.

Any comments or critiques are welcomed and appreciated. Smiley

Thanks for taking a look at my work!
