I've been thinking of making my Mom this for Christmas https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=181837.0 and I was wondering if the scent from the oils would be enough or if I should use an EO to scent it.

Some people put preservatives into their creams and stuff, will I need to in this?

Also, I'd like to buy my oils in a shop rather than online, so does anyone know where in Manchester I can buy things like this without spending my life savings in Holland and Barrett?

You really only need a preservative in a recipe that contains water (it could grow mold and other ickies) so in a body butter you're fine without one!

If you use unrefined cocoa butter the chocolate smell will probably come through pretty will, but you may want to add a complimentary fragrance or essential oil if you want a stronger smell.

Sorry, I'm in the US so I can't really help you with stores. I believe we have some UK suppliers on the suppliers list (stickied at the top of discussions and questions), maybe one of those is close to you? Here you can sometimes buy some of these ingredients in ethnic food markets or health food stores.

Ahh, I'm glad xD I had no idea where I would get it from if I did need it xD

Can you recommend an EO to compliment the cocoa butter?

I've looked at the suppliers but I'd rather buy it in a shop to minimise my CO2 emmissions... There is no point in saying how organic and wonderfully natural your stuff is if it has been driven to you creating all those emmissions from the van it came in xD But I also understand that sometimes it is really hard to find stuff in shops, so I'll keep those websites in mind.

Try doing a Google search of your city plus "soap supplier," or "essential oils." Sometimes things will pop up. Otherwise you can try Whole Foods, Trader Joes or other health food stores. Just be sure to read your labels very carefully; a lot of times they have "aromatherapy oils" that are not pure essential oils. The only problem with health food stores is that they charge an arm and a leg for the oils. 90% of the time I've found it cheaper to buy online and pay shipping. But if you don't mind shelling out more money, good EO combinations with cocoa butter would be anything citrus (orange and chocolate makes me drool, lol), and lavender. Lavender and chocolate is all kinds of luxurious.
