Organizers: sunspotted and TwiztidBlood

When sending PMs, please label them as OWS 53 with one of the following tags:
Package sent
Package received

So when sending the questionnaire, the subject will read OWS 53 Approval. When notifying us about sending and receiving packages, add the corresponding tag. If you just have a general question, label it as that. This will keep things organized for us!  When sending a sent/received PM, please include the 'Send by' date so my craziness will stay at a minimum.

Qualifications to Join

To join this round you must be cleared in all Ongoing Wish list Swaps through Round 50
(except for international delivery).  You also cannot join this swap if you are currently late in Round 51 or 52.
Do not join this swap if you are late in other swaps.  Please make those swaps your priority.

There will no longer be items allowed that are not craft or supply related, if you have questions please let us know

How This Swap Works:
Please READ CAREFULLY! This swap works differently than most!

Try to imagine a chain.  The first link is the first person whose wish list is on page 1 (Person A) - that will be the craftster member who was the very last wish list from Ongoing Wish Swap 52.

Now, we want to put another link in the chain.  People will read that list and see if there is something they want to/can make from the list.

Someone (Person B) will claim Person A for some item on their wish list.  They post a reply to the thread that says I claim Person A for [item].  This is my X claim (however many times they have picked someone for example, "this is my fourth wish, with one sent, and three received, (meaning that this is the fourth claim they've made, one is in transit to it's destination, and three of the items have been received by the people they previously claimed).  Also add your location, and any preferences or aversions I live in Wisconsin USA, I am a vegetarian, and I am allergic to wool.

IT'S REALLY IMPORTANT THAT YOU REPLY WITH YOUR STATUS WHEN YOU CLAIM SOMEONE!  This means you need to post who you are claiming and for what, how many claims you have made, including how many in transit and how many received, and your location/preferences/aversions.

Then comes the fun part!  After the introduction, Person B is the last link in the chain, and they post their wish list!!!  YOU CAN HAVE AS MANY ITEMS ON YOUR WISH LIST AS YOU WANT, HOWEVER YOU MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF SIX.  THE MORE ITEMS YOU LIST, THE BETTER YOUR CHANCES OF BEING CLAIMED QUICKLY.

(Please have your list ready, this swap moves very quickly!  Please include your country at the start of your wish list). Person B will also PM Person A to get her address so they can mail the item when it is finished.

Along comes Person C, who claims Person B for something on their list and the chain is built, link by link.  (If Person C wanted to make Person B a purse AND a stuffie, that would still count as ONE WISH.)  Then they post their list, and so on.

When you want to make a claim, you can ONLY pick from the very last wish list in the chain.  You can't pick anyone else in the chain - you can only connect to the very end of the chain, which is that last wish list posted.

After you have made your claim, you need to PM that person for their address.

Friends of Craftster are allowed 3 wishes at one time, others are allowed 2 wishes.  If this is your first swap, you are only allowed one wish until your craft is received for this month.  Do not choose over your given limit.
If you already have one claim that will be sent out late, please don't claim again until that one is sent out.

Become a Friend of Craftster!  Go here: https://www.craftster.org/subscribe.php

If you are at your limit of wishes, you can choose again once one of your partners receives, NOT when you send.

***Do not claim someone unless you can fulfill that wish to a high caliber***

Let's keep the quality high here. I don't want to receive PMs with people concerned over the lack of quality of their items.  Please, just work your hardest to keep the bar high on the quality of items here!  Don't choose just for the sake of choosing; choose to make someone else a really AWESOME wish!

Now if the thread gets in a rut for a few days/hours, the person who made the last wish should add to their list if they can think of anything else, until someone decides to craft for them. Please make sure this is not you!

Unsure of where to find wish ideas?  Try the previous ongoing wish swap galleries or any other gallery on craftster.  Look through your fellow crafters wist lists.

( the medium can be a couple small items etc as long as it adds up to a medium )
( A medium item equals two hours of crafting time or $20 worth of store bought items )

Please be communicative if you are having any issues. If you communicate you still need to send your item in a timely manner.  Communication does not mean you can send as late as you want.  After one week past the deadline you will have negative feedback.  This is only temporary as it will be changed back once you fulfill your obligation for late item(s).  Do not choose to craft an item if you do not think you can meet these deadlines.

I will be giving feedback in the following way:
-  great swapper: for those who follow all the rules
-  good/poor communication:  where applicable
-  sent late/early: where applicable
-  no dc number: failed to comply with the rule about using a confirmation number for packages within their own country
- didn't post pictures: failed to post pictures of what they received without an adequate explanation to their partner
- did not follow item amount rule

Previous Swap Rounds:
If you are confused in any way by how this works, please look at some previous rounds:

sunspotted - Will be your organizer, in charge of your claims, your sends, receives and approval.

DesignVigilante is up from the last round ...

My name is Diana, I'm from Southern California! I'm a married part-time domestic goddess, full time art geek. I got married September 5th, 2008 to the love of my life. We live together with the other love of my life, our 2 year old chihuahua mix Georgie. We do not have any human kids and it will be a long time before we do.

I'm 22 years old, planning to transfer to Otis College of art and design next year to be a commercial arts major!

My favorite color combination is black-pink-white. I am currently obsessed with zebra print. I also like polka dots, stripes, and argyle. Other colors I like include most blues, most violets, and seafoam green. I'm not fond of neon colors. I hate yellow and green unless they're a secondary color that goes with something else (like an accent color basically).

For my dog, I love to see him in primary colors and anything you would typically associate with a little boy (like race cars, rocket ships, etc). He's typically a size "Small", but if you need any measurements I have them around here somewhere. He loves rope toys, plushies, and any treats that look and smell like something you would eat yourself.

For my hubby, his favorite color combination is blue-black-white. He prefers solid colors, stripes, and minimal designs.

I THINK I'm allergic to wool, but I am not sure of this. I can hold wool in my hands and knit/crochet with it, but I cannot wear it on my skin. I have been told that I should try washing wool first and to try the expensive wools but can't afford to spend money on a $10 skein of yarn I might not be able to use. So any scraps of wool (like 10 yards or less) would be appreciated as long as they are labeled!

I have extra sensitive skin, I cannot use any bath & beauty product that isn't handmade or all natural.
My favorite scents are Vanilla, Strawberry, and Citrus.

My hubby is allergic to cat hair/dander, so if you have a cat please keep away or wash before sending!

I claim DesignVigilante for ... removable crochet stitch markers and handmade christmas ornaments.

I'm in Canada, this is my first claim and here's my list.

Crafted Stuff
(examples of most of these things can be found on my wist)

* HUGE WISH!!  Dog seat cover for my Jeep, any colour that goes with beige.  Large dogs, so sturdy fabric is necessary.
* Recipe scrapbook, something with heavier (cardstock) pages that I can glue recipes into.
* Calorimetry in any dark or earth colour.
* Full-sized stationary, light colours only please for writing to my grandmaman.
* Laptop sleeve - fun fabric, a little padding, no need for a zipper, this could be a medium for an awesome seamstress, yes?  My computer is 15"x10"x1.75".
* A small, framed embroidery.  Black & white would be awesome.  Or some birds.  Or trees.  Maybe some black & white birds sitting in black & white trees?  Or a silhouette of something.  Perhaps a bird?   Wink  Black & white art for my walls - photography, sketches, charcoals (love), embroidery, anything.
* A new wallet, many examples found on my wist.
* I broke my magnifying compact and I still havent replaced it, and I thought someone might want to make me a decorated one??  Yes/no??   Must be magnifying, I am old and blind.
* Decorated black & white picture frames.
* Embroidered tea towels in fall colours - nature themes, food themes, plants, nothing with a face please (unless it naturally includes one).
* Soft eye mask that you put in the freezer - corn would be awesome, rice smells a little funny to me.
* Body pillow cases in blues and greens - patterns or solids, I can provide dimensions.
* Scented sachets for my closet (hanging) and my drawers (not-hanging).  I'm not a huge fan of the traditional lavender scent, so something else less floral would be fabulous.
* A fabric business card holder that snaps shut, in earthy colours please.
* Fabric scarf in almost any colour (I don't wear yellow, teal or purple).
* Hair accessories for longish, thickish, curlyish hair, preferably barrettes and pins, I have lots of headbands.
* Fruity smelling candles.
* Sugar scrub, no salt please, no flowery scents.
* Non-traditional jewelry.  I'm allergic to most metal but I love bracelets/cuffs and necklaces made out of fabric, leather, felt, buttons, velvet, glass, wood, etc, etc.  Approximately 8" for my wrist and at least 27" or longer for a necklace, no chokers.  Also nothing too huge or wacky, I'm masquerading as a grownup these days.  Smiley

* I have a wist.  Its growing every day and I would love anything from or inspired by it!

(I live far away from any and all craft stores, supplies are like gold to me, an all-supply package would be wonderful)

* Black and white patterned scrapbook paper, not all the same, full sized sheets to put on my walls.
* Yarn I do not recognize the concept of too much yarn, it is impossible.  Fancy fabulous yarn is wonderful.  Handspun is divine.  Nice acrylic is fine too, worsted weight, I use it for everything including scrapghans, so scraps are fine too.  Baby yarn that isn't pink (I have enough pink) is wonderful.  Theres no such thing as too much cotton (especially bright colours).  I've fallen in love with felting, so wool is fabulous, especially in blues and greens (for a kitty bed).  Id also love to try fancy types that I cant get here recycled, corn, soy, bamboo, hemp, wool blends, etc.  Especially bamboo.  I have a project in mind for my mom that requires 4x80g of a bamboo yarn.  A bright or jewel tone colour would be fantastic.  I hate buying online, I always get the colour wrong.  This being said, I do not recognize novelty yarn (including the evil boucle) as actual yarn.  No need to send any of that.
* Crochet hooks - metal with bamboo or Softouch handles any size (especially G) or an S hook.
* Bright blue and bright green fabric, solids or patterns.  Its for a truly patchwork quilt so smallish pieces are fine.
* Scraps (no matter how small, seriously 1/2 cm square is big enough) of felt, any colours.
* July/August 2008 Crochet Today! magazine.  Something went wrong with my subscription and they skipped that month.  Back issue magazine shipping to Canada is ridiculously expensive.   Anybody done with theirs?
* Afghan patterns, especially the newer best of booklets that many yarn companies have.  The fancier, the better.
* Yarn bobbins.
* Embroidery hoops - all sizes, preferably paintable.
* Large to giant glass beads and/or seed beads, any colour, actually a bag of bead soup would be wonderful.
* Black paint markers - I can't paint but I'm an excellent colourer-inner.
* Tunisian crochet "kit", Id love to learn but have no hooks or directions.
* Freezer Paper (a how-to-stencil using freezer paper tute would be awesome too, but not absolutely necessary).
* Small frames (3x5" ish) wood not plastic please.  I need 12 but you don't have to send that many and they don't have to match.
* Paint stir sticks.
* Small pieces of softwood, I've been playing around with some pendant carving.
* Interesting pieces of driftwood, any size.
* If someone could send me canned chestnuts or chestnut puree or basically anything resembling a chestnut that wouldn't rot on the way here, I would love you forever.  Being a foodie in the middle of nowhere is somewhat frustrating, especially during this chestnut-y time of year.  *shakes fist ineffectively at Safeway*

* I never say no to sugarless gum, hard candies or favourite recipes (especially for baking).
* Maldon sea salt.  I can't find it here, my grocery store won't order it and I am craving pretzels like crazy.
* Other foodie extras, I LOVE to bake.
* Surprise me!  I like useful things as opposed to purely decorative.  Storage ideas are particularly appreciated.

About Me

Hi, Im Allison, a 30-whatever year this is (39 now, I think) year old hermit from the wilds of Ontario.  Seriously, I have more deer and bears visit than people, and Im okay with that.  I am a jeans and t-shirt kind of chick who is completely ready for the apocalypse and would be happy to share her rutabagas and pemmican making skills with the people of Craftster.  I have two large dogs and three cats that think they are dogs.  My primary craft is crochet though Im attempting to work on my beading, glass, sewing, embroidery and knitting skills.   However, I have the attention span of a gnat, 47 different jobs and a 24 hour day is way too short.

I love nature and animals, music and books.  I like crafting for babies but would sooner chew off my own arm than have one.  I dont have a favourite colour though I do believe that yellow is best used sparingly and bright teal is a tool of the devil.  I refuse to acknowledge the existence of neons.   Every time I mention blue or green in my list, I am thinking of brighter, clearer colours as opposed to the navy, forest, khaki ones - think sky blue, apple green, leaf green, light turquoise, etc.  Im allergic to most metals and dont wear much jewelry.  I don't have a sweet tooth but I'm addicted to coffee, gum and potato chips.  I never use a sentence when I can use an entire paragraph and getting a package in the mail is enough to prompt me to gleeful, dorktastically bad dancing.

Thanks in advance to whoever claims me and Happy Festivus everybody.

I claim sunspotted for a calorimetry, some hair pins, and some scrapbook paper.

I am 19 and live in Fredericksburg, VA (USA) much of the year, where I go to school, though in two weeks I'll be home for winter break in Virginia Beach. My style is pretty haphazard--I never coordinate anything, so my decorating style is whatever I like, all cobbled together. I love bold prints and art deco and fun colors, but I'm not a fan of pink or orange. I love dark colors, like maroon and navy. I knit like a fiend (almost constantly) and also crochet, sew, and dabble in paper craft and spinning. I really want to learn weaving, and soapmaking, just to add to my crafty repertoire. I have cats and a dog at home, but not at school, and they all stay out of my crafting supplies. I don't have any allergies. PM with any questions!

-   Throw pillows (quilted, embroidered, knitted, whatever)--Don't even have to be stuffed; I can obtain pillow forms

-   Beaded or poly clay stitch markers

-   Reusable baggies (made of oilcloth) for snacks/cereal/cookies to replace ziplock bags

-    Lino carving tool thing (for carving stamps)

-    Large erasers or rubber base thingies for carving stamps

-   Kool-Aid and/or acid dye for yarn/roving

-   An x-acto knife/blades

-   STAMPS. Pretty much anything as I have pretty much none.

Thing 1 & Thing 2 shirts for my kids.

Comfy pajama pants.

Wonder Twin shirts for the kiddos.

Blankets (I love blankets of any kind. Sewn, quilted, tied, crochet, whatever.)

I'm claiming StephanieGravatt for a suprise from her wist!

1st claim/0 sent/0 received

About myself: I'm a 19 year old biology major who hates chemistry (life is so unfair). I have the coolest job ever working at a funeral museum. I have an unhealthy love for cats, especially my cat Artoo Detoo. For the most part, I am into all things obnoxiously cute, things that are so ugly it's cute, retro things, kitschy things, and things involving kittens, gnomes, pigs, bees, or scooters. My favorite colors are orange, yellow, and pink. I'm a Pisces, and enjoy long walks on the beach and romantic candle lit dinners...

Things I'd like:
-**tattoo flash/artwork, if you actually tattoo or know what you're doing.
-amigurumi. I seriously have no idea how you people make those things.
-stationery. I am looking for SHEETS, not note cards! with envelopes!
-bakery scented candles
-framed/matted embroidery or cross stitch related to my listed interests.
- anything bacon or Star Wars related for my cat. What can I say, the little guy LOVES bacon.
-cute sewing machine cover, PM me for measurements.
- anything off/inspired by my wist! http://wists.com/hanshotfirst
especially something like this http://wists.com/hanshotfirst/1597ee8d5181dc1e072e39c9c120440b?offset=0 or http://wists.com/hanshotfirst/cfbe5296f0d5244c35158f595290c034?offset=0 so awesome!
- cardigan/sweater clips. They just can't be really heavy because my cardigans are pretty thin.

-Japanese/so-cute-you-want-to-barf fabric (please no Hello Kitty, though)
-things to knit a pair of socks, including yarn, needles, and instructions aimed at someone with the knitting capacity of a 6 year old.
-drop spindle, roving, and dye. I'd love to learn how to spin yarn.

-***anything with simplified Chinese characters!** Newspapers, magazines, take out menus, I don't care what it is! I'm in my second semester of Chinese and I'd love some more reading fodder.
-post cards!
-old black and white pictures.
- local honey (they sell local Texas honey in the grocery stores down here, not sure if it's as easy as that to find it around your parts)
