So my almost-niece (best friend's baby) will be turning one in December.  To mark the momentous occasion, I decided to make her an ABC book, based on the one eternallyeve made, found here.

I appliqued the item onto the page and then labeled it with fabric markers.  I tried to use a variety of fabrics, to make it more interesting for her to look at/touch/play with.  There's also a single layer of batting in each page to make it soft.  I think it turned out pretty well ...

The cover ...

ABCD (Cricket is the cat ... you can't tell because she's all black, so she looks like a black blob!)  I used the inkjet printer iron transfer paper for the dog, cat, 'Daddy' and 'Mommy' pictures.  Also, please note the buttons - trying to start the kid off early in crafting appreciation!

MNOP (The octopus is one of my favorites!)

QRST (Q has to be quilt, right?  Not a perfect quilt, alas, but not half bad, either)

YZ end (Y had to be for yarn - her mother is a knitter!)

Constructive Criticism appreciated! Smiley

O.O Can you make me one? lol I love it. My son is just over a year and a big book reader fiddler. He loves to nosh them, no matter what they are made of. This makes me want to make him something like this. Very creative, I bet she will love it. Smiley You are the best friend ever.

I always love seeing custom gifts like these. Nice touch with mummy and daddy having a picture in there!

It's lovely!  I just made a cloth book for my DD's first birthday (I've posted it on Craftster).  It's something really special they can keep forever.  I'm sure she will love it, and her mum and dad will too, as they're in it!  Grin
