I will have to clarify the tree a little.  RyverChyld and I are besties from high school, and the tree was from me AND the hubby to help brighten her spirits and to remember that miles apart we will still spend Christmas together this year (and because a frickin' pink tree is the most awesome thing ever  Cheesy).  I had to make very, very, very clear to my dude that it was soooooo not part of the swap, because he tends to put size limits on my swapping and that tree fit into a MUCH bigger box than usual.   Grin

Seriously, you guys are a bunch of awesome craftsters! That skully stocking is so awesome, so is the pink and black hello kitty one. And RyverChyld, it's nice to hear that someone from Craftsters could really make your holiday special. Great job guys!

Now prepared to be amazed!! I received the most awesome package from PirateColey! We were going to swap one of her ceramic mermaids for one of my bags, but she was very thoughtful and included lots of extras for me and my daughter.

Now here's the AWESOME mermaid! Can we say WOW! Shocked She got the colors in her dead on to my taste. I REALLY LOVE this mermaid! She's about 14 inches long, with black hair and green eyes. Check out the face and tail detail. It's complete awesomeness!

Here are the cute little extras she included for me and my daughter. A 3 ornament wooden hanging and 2 ceramic Christmas ornaments for my daughter to paint. A little pink skully pin, strand of pink beads, a pink and black star belt buckle, and a cute frog stamp.

And if that wasn't enough... She also stalked me and found out that I just started scrapbooking, so she sent me a neat scrapbook (my 1st one) that she also filled with very sweet layouts.

The 1st layout on the bottom has my daughters name, which was really sweet. Wink

She also included LOADS of scrapbooking supplies! My daughter and I are going to have LOTS of fun putting our layouts together! Cheesy

I'm so so SO glad you like her, Frogangel. It was a challenge to go outside my normal color schemes for you. I'm really happy with how she turned out- especially her tail.

Here are a few extra pictures...

I received an awesome package from calluna! Grin

A while back I posted a swap idea for a traveling altered book swap. The idea was to send your book around to the group and let everyone alter a spread or two and eventually it would make it back just chock full of awesomeness! Well several weeks/months passed and it never got off the ground. calluna and I were partners in a rainbow swap a couple of years ago and she made me a huge AMAZING book! So I was excited that she was interested in the altered book idea but then super excited when she invited me to be her partner in this swap Smiley So long story short, we altered each other's books Smiley

I sent her a novel called "The Devil on Horseback" from the '70s. This is her contribution! She went very dark and moody with it (complete opposite of the bright rainbow book she had made me) and I just love it! There are so many visual and tactile textures to it, I could stare at it all day and keep finding new things in it. It's lovingly detailed.

I looked in a pocket (she is so awesome at making those) and found "Evidence"

"Now home indeed and old loves greet us back, Yet--shall we say--something here we lack, Some reach and climax we have left behind, And something here is dead, that without sound, Moves lips at us and beckons, shadow-bound, But what it means, we cannot call to mind. -John Erskin"

The right side of this spread has text handwritten in silver ink. I can only make out bits and pieces. It's very haunting, I absolutely love it.

Another awesome pocket. "Sign of Life" and "?". I love how the question mark is very delicately tied to the page on a thin, long string. It will never go away, it's always there Smiley

This is what it looks like open:

In addition to the book altering, she also sent me this incredible woven piece! I love love love it!

Thanks calluna! Kiss
