Dollar Store frame ornaments I bought last year that were gold and covered in glitter. Black paint, rub 'n buff, and images added-still need new ribbon.
Lost in Space robot, and image from Rossum's Universal Robots, where the term began.

A zeppelin over Manhatten,and Voyager 1.

Moon landing astronaut, and hot air balloon.

Oh yeah, and Tesla.

Those are fabulous!  I bought the same frames last year on clearance...what paint did you use?

I mostly use them for shrines, but I would love to try a few of your ornaments!

I love that you have captured some iconic bits of history!

Thanks, always! I used at least a couple of coats of black spray paint, and then silver rub 'n buff. When I needed to paint a black background on the inserts and had run out of paint, I used black nail polish! I derped and forgot to remove the clear plastic that covered the middle on a couple of them before I sprayed them, thus having to repaint the centers! Well, the paper decoupaged images covered most of the inserts anyway, it was more for the edges.
You can't tell they were ever gold and highly glittery anymore.
I still need to turn the ornament balls I bought last year into hot air balloons.
I know it's early, but I have a november holiday sale at a comic expo thingy where people also bring steampunky and geeky stuff, so it's ornament time!
