Just wondering, where do you guys like to go buy beads in the Montreal area?  Or do you prefer buying online?

There are two bead stores on St Denis, just north of Sherbrooke metro station (One is called Bedz, I think, and the other one I don't know, I just remember thinking "there's ANOTHER bead store on this stretch?!).

People will likely sigh and lament the closing the Bead Emporium, a bead store that had been in Westmount for ever and ever and ever and ever and just closed recently because of the recession, etc.

Tip for looking in Montreal: they're called perles in French.

A great place to buy beads online is with a compnay called Stones and Findings.  They have a really good site, and they are super helpful if you have any questions.  They carry a large assortment of sterling silver findings, semi-precious stones, freshwater pearls, and more.

The best place I know to buy beads in montreal is called Beads Planet.  It's on St-Hubert a block north away from Jean-Talon Street. (Jean-Talon metro station) They have a website which should give you an idea on how much stuff they have (my head was spinning first time I went in there!

Hope this helps!

ditto on the St-Hubert store, I think it's called Chatons Beads: they have tons of beads and also a back store with metal findings. You can also get stuff like E6000 glue. I buy vintage so I usually get them from Etsy suppliers.

My new favorite place for beads is this : http://www.clubbeadplus.com/fr/home.aspx

I saw it going to the airport in a taxi, because it's on the side of the 40 expressway (right after St-Laurent boulevard).  I've been there twice now, it's insane.  If you like what you see on the website, go have a look in store.  The people are super nice and know their stuff!
