Anyone remember Sam and Max? Anyone? Anyone?

It was a Lucas Arts game I played when I was younger back when Lucas Arts didn't just make endless Star Wars games. It was all about a dog detective named Sam and his sociopathic fanged bunny sidekick named Max. Max kinda started an obsession of mine with fanged bunnies.  My fiance played it too, so we both decided this year to go as Sam and Max!

Here's a little shot of Sam and Max for comparison:

My biggest challenge was Max's face. I could either walk around with a large painted paper mache bubble head all night, or do something else. I opted for something else. I bought an over sized furry white shirt, and stitched up a hood out of white fur, then appliqued Max's face onto the hood and sewed it onto the top.  I added a line of the fur to the bottom of the shirt (otherwise it was scandalously short) and made a little furry belt to cinch the costume.  The boots were off Etsy, of course.

His costume was a thrift store suit, with an over sized tie I stitched myself. I bought a white hat for him and dyed it blue, and then stitched up a few doggie ears and hot glued them inside.  His feet were bear feet we found at a costume store, and they're now my new favorite slippers ever. I wear them all over the house.

Also, because any of you that know me know about Craft Bunny, (and for those of you that don't you can meet the little ball of terror here) walking around in a fanged bunny costume was just too good an opportunity. So I hunted down a pair of scissors and...

Ta daa! Craft Bunny!!

Happy Halloween everyone Smiley

YAAY!  My favourite Canine Shamus and Hyperkinetic Rabbity Thing!  Steve Purcell was awesome.  I love your costumes, also have you played the newer ones they came out with?

Rasp, rasp, rasp.

Yay! I LOVE Sam and Max, and GREAT job on the costumes! That's an *awesome* bunny head.
Now I am all nostalgic for LucasArts games. Sigh.

And also great job on the costumes. Smiley

(Next year: purple tentacle vs. green tentacle?)

To craft and to solve.
