Yay!  It's my very first challenge!  So, last halloween was my VERY first halloween as a mommy.  Our daughter, Kayleigh, was only 6 months old and I REALLY REALLY wanted to dress her up as a punk rocker, but I was a little nervous getting the hair coloring in her hair.  This year, I am wiser....and not as neat.  So I decided that I was going to do it!  Who cares about the mess?!?

So, I made her shirt out of a shirt that I used to wear in high school.  I just made a tube top and then safety pined a strap to make it a halter top.  The skirt we got at a children's second hand store here in town (an awesome place I might add).  Anyways, It was a cute plaid skirt, but she wasn't going to be a cute girl for Halloween, she was going to be a punk rocker!  So we had to punkify with (what else) some skull decals and more safety pins.  The chain (I didn't get a good picture of the chain) is actually my chihuahua's dog collar which was (you guessed it!) safety pinned on to her skirt.  The tights were just random tights we had and I took a seam ripper to them to make them "fishnets" because strangely enough they don't make toddler fishnet stockings...weird huh?  The boots we bought at Kohl's which we're going to return.  They're too big in the feet and too tight on the legs!!  Then there's the hair.  Oh boy.  You can see her fingers are all green because she was playing with her hair.  I should have just gone with the mohawk!  Now I have to clean her car seat...her newly green car seat!  The pictures aren't the best, but that's what you get for trying to take pictures of a toddler while she's playing in the park!

This is the front (sort of)

This is her side (oh yeah, we put a couple tattoos on her...because you're not punk rock until you got some ink Wink )

back (you can really see her green hair in this one!)

Another back! a skully on her butt Tongue

Another back...just because!

Here's a nice shot of the spider tattoo on her back!

Yay!  This was so much fun!  I hope this is the first of many homemade costumes to come!

Hey Solitaire!!

*hee hee* You guys shoulda seen the looks we got when we took her to the park!  Some parents were totally into it, others....not so much.  LOL!  It's funny because the older ladies thought it was awesome, while the younger people thought it was horrible Tongue
